Episode 4: How to Create The Perfect Personal Brand For
Your Blog and Business and Publish Your Best Content 🥂

You may have heard to create a profitable blog, you need to have a website. You need to have a logo, you need to know your brand colors and all of that good stuff, and being a blogging coach and a prior website designer, I believe having a website, a logo, and knowing your brand colors are so important and all of these things have a place within your business.

However, these things are just expressions of our brands, they are not the soul of our brands.

So I like to think of branding like the human body. The human body has many parts that are designed to help it function in it’s highest capacity. So we have our eyes, arms, legs, etc.

However, these things are just a part of the representation of who we are. 

They are not the soul or personality of who we are.

Though we can share our personality with, let’s say, a new hairstyle.

Our new hairstyle is not our personality.

That’s the same concept I want you to think about when thinking about creating a personal brand for your business. So if you’ve been feeling a little stuck or disconnected from your business or business idea I want you to consider if you’re creating the type of business that you actually desire.

Are you creating the type of business that represents who you are and the things that you value?

Which may be totally different from the status quo.

Your personal brand is a unique blend of your skills, experiences, and personality that you communicate to the world. In other words, it’s the essence of who you are.

Being clear of what your personal brand is within your business will help you create content that you enjoy and help you stand out from the crowd.

So are you the shy type who loves all things technology? Be that way.

Are you the life of the party who loves to dance and sing in front of your friends? Be that way.

Or maybe you’re a very serious, stern personality who loves all things related to rules and regulations.

Remain the same. 

Your personal brand is more than having a blog or business it’s about sharing your personality, skills and experience while creating your core business content. However, it’s about showing who you are aside from your skills and expertise.

So I want you to ask yourself, who are you outside of the topic that you’re blogging about,
and how can you combine your everyday lifestyle with your core blog content?

For instance, maybe you have a health and wellness blog but you love gardening you can sprinkle your love for growing plants such as flowers, herbs, or vegetables throughout your content.

Or maybe you have a mommy blog that focuses on parenting but you love sewing you can add your love for sewing throughout your content and or combine it with your core content.

Or maybe you’re a legal consultant who’s enjoys volunteer work you can show different community activities your involved in and share how each one has made a difference for yourself or others.

You want to continue creating core content for your business while sprinkling other things about who you are, what you enjoy ext. throughout your content.

Your core content could look like creating a valuable blog post that contains text, video, podcast, images or all of the above. Your core content should represent 90 to 95% of what you create and should create expert positioning. It should also be created around what your audience is searching for on Pinterest and Google.

In conclusion, what you’re creating is not just words or content on a website, but it’s literally content that’s designed to create transformation for your target audience.

And what you’ll notice is, as you’re being yourself and as you’re growing your business, you’ll be creating transformation within yourself as well because you’re constantly growing and learning.

• Make a list of your personality traits – This is how you’ll show up all the time in your business.
  
• Create a list of things that your really good at this should be things you can do effortlessly – This will help you choose the kind of product to create and or what kind of content you should focus on. For instance, you may love writing but find videos to be a hassle or vice versa. Don’t worry about how to implement these strategies just think about what your naturally good at and jot it down.
  
• Make a list of at least three things, people or aspects of your life that you enjoy and want to share with your audience. This can be music, your pet, vacations, family or really anything else aside from the actual business related topics in your niche. This will be the other things you’ll add to your content.
  
• Write down what the perfect lifestyle and business would look like for you and don’t worry about the “how to” just have fun and write down whatever you picture. You can also create online visual board with pictures if visuals work best.

Lastly, keep whatever you write in front of you while your building your business this will help the guide and motivation to implement the necessary strategies to get the results you want.
