Slow, Soft, Smarter: 3 Productivity Hacks That Shifted Everything.
Let’s just say I wish I knew these little productivity hacks sooner — but I’m beyond happy I know them now.
Ok love bug, let’s talk.
This post, I’m gonna be a little transparent.
Prior to just a few months ago, I thought I knew everything there was to know about productivity — and to be honest, I thought I was doing a pretty good job.
And to grace myself, technically I was… based on the knowledge and information I had about productivity at the time.
You know, tips like:
– Time blocking for focused, distraction-free work.
– Batching content to save time and energy.
– Simplifying tasks to avoid burnout and do more with less.
But whew, boy was I wrong.
Now hear me out — I still use every last one of those strategies. But in many cases, things were still taking longer than needed.
So no, I wasn’t searching for more productivity tips — because I thought what I knew was enough.
What I didn’t take into account was how productivity would resonate with me across all three categories: blog, life, and business.
So what I’ll be sharing in this post? I kind of stumbled into it.
But once I made a few small tweaks, I started noticing just how much more productive I became — with ease.
Yes, these tweaks were small, but they changed my blog, life, and business in a big way.
So buckle up, friend — because this post is Part 1 of a 3-part productivity series I’m sharing this week, where I’ll walk you through the exact shifts that helped me shift from overwhelmed to aligned — in my blog, life, and business.
Let’s get into the first one.
👇🏽
So, here’s the thing — I thought I was already doing the productivity thing right.
Time-blocking? Check.
Planning ahead? Yep.
Showing up on too many platforms? Tried that.
But here’s what I didn’t take into account: It wasn’t just about time management — It was also about leaking energy.
And that brings me to one of the biggest shifts I’ve made recently…
💡 Productivity Hack #1: I started focusing on energy — not just my time.
Here’s what I mean → Most productivity advice tells you to manage your time.
Time is important — but energy is the currency.
Time blocking is cute, batching is helpful… but if your energy’s scattered from social media scrolling, emotional noise, or feeling the pressure to show up everywhere at once.
And with all that going on, even the best tools can’t help you reach your full potential.”
Because it was never about the tool — it’s always about your energy.
Also, at the time it wasn’t even that I didn’t feel like creating — It’s that I don’t desire to do it in unaligned spaces.
One thing I became big on? Time, energy, and distractions – In fact, here’s a good study:
📊 Study Note (for later): A study from the University of California, Irvine, found that it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to fully refocus after a single distraction. You can read the full article here.
Now imagine that — every scroll, every notification can set you back nearly half an hour.
Protecting my energy — or better yet, focusing it — was one of the most powerful productivity tweaks I ever made.
No new app. No fancy planner. Just a shift that finally made sense.
If this is the kind of shift you — or someone you love — needed to hear, pin it to your Business Pinterest Board so you can come back to it later. Thanks a bunch!✨
It involved realizing this:
I didn’t need to overextend myself to bring value — I just needed to focus on the best way to do it.
The Blog, The Exclusive Newsletter.
It wasn’t just about having the time — it was about energy management.
👇🏽
This one realization?
It didn’t just change my business.
It changed my content strategy.
It changed my life.
So here’s your assignment today:
Ask yourself this —
Which platforms or marketing strategies are quietly draining your energy — even if they look productive on the outside?
📍 Be honest with yourself.
📍 Write them down.
📍 And then ask: What would happen if I cut those off… and replaced them with something that actually gives me more peace, time, and long-term return?
And of course, I’m going to highly recommend having a content-driven website.
Not because I build content-driven websites…
But because your content-driven website is the only platform that:
If you’re tired of scattered strategies, this is where to begin.
That’s it for today, love bug.
But we’re not done yet.
Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing Productivity Hack #2 — and whew, it’s gonna be a good one.
We’re talking content, confidence, and a shift that changed how I show up forever.
So stay tuned for part two of this 3-part series 🎉
