You have this great business idea, and you’re ready to get started, but when you sit down to create, what do you know, it seems like a thousand things come up that you have to get done before launching the blogging business you’ve always wanted and at the end of the day your left feeling as if you didn’t get any closer to the goals that you wanted to accomplish.

So here’s the thing: most entrepreneurs have had this gut-wrenching experience that lasted for days, weeks, and sometimes months. So if you feel alone, trust me, you are not. 

What you are experiencing is what I call the “I’ll do it tomorrow syndrome,” aka procrastination. I know that word is so annoying, but it is, in fact, one of the biggest mental obstacles I believe many entrepreneurs face before launching their 6-figure blogging business.

Fear of failure.
Sense of overwhelm.

Here are a few of the reasons you may be struggling with procrastination and my top favorite ways to overcome procrastination so that you can finally launch your 6-figure blogging business.

1. Feeling you don’t have all the answers, resources and or not having the funds to invest to get started.
   
   So, this kind of reason for procrastination may feel tricky to overcome because I’m sure “I don’t have the funds to invest” can feel like the most convincing reason to avoid launching your business. 
   
   One way to overcome these reasons for procrastination is to look at what can be done before to move the needle forward. You may not officially launch your business prior to having, let’s say, the funds to purchase your product supply.
   
   But are there other things you can do in the meantime? Like writing out your official business plan, creating your marketing strategy, and looking into crowdfunding opportunities and or different ways you may be able to get started using a smaller budget.I’ve found the correct answers, and resources usually show up as you take the first steps forward based on your current information and resources.
   
   
2. Extreme Perfectionism.
   
   If you’re the kind of person who has to have everything just right, and you have to know all the answers before getting started. In that case, this definitely can be what’s causing the procrastination. 
   
   Being a perfectionist may seem right; however, if you find yourself redoing minor tasks like straightening out a photo for a marketing project, redoing your website design over and over, or creating a sales copy, etc. For months, perfectionism may be what’s holding you back. As a recovered perfectionist myself, most things you want to improve come from taking action so you have results to measure. 
   
   So doing your absolute best and being well-informed about your business ins and outs is fine. But, if it stops you from starting your business, that’s where the problem would lie. I encourage you to take action within your business to know what and how to make things better.
   
   
3. The Guru myth.
   
   The “Guru Myth” says you have to be at level 10, know everything there is to know about your topic, and have all the experiences related to your business niche to get started.
   
   The truth, however, is that no one is a guru when they first start anything. Even if they are great now, they weren’t their absolute best when they began. Becoming great at anything takes experience and practice, and you get better through taking action.
   
   Your customers will only want to know if your product and or service will help them get results. For example, if a customer is starting at level 0. Your product and service can help them reach level 5 or 7, benefiting someone at level 0.
   
   
4. Seeking Validation.
   
   Last but certainly not least, you may be looking for someone to say your idea is amazing before getting started. A quick solution to this reason for procrastination is to not do that. I teach my clients to write down their business ideas and paint a picture of what their perfect business would look like. Then we work on strategy from there. I also advise them not to keep their idea private from experts, i.e., coaches, ext.
   
   Asking someone’s thoughts regarding your business who does not have direct knowledge or expertise thoughts is just necessary for business success.
   
   The best thing to do with family, friends, and co-workers is to let them see your business and growth in action and let them understand later.
   
   Showing with action will help guard you from negative feedback or energy and keep you in a state of expansion and momentum, precisely where you want to be within your business.
   
   In other words, it’s best to show what you do and how through action vs. asking for validation during the beginning stages of your business.
