Whether you are starting from ground zero or you’re a little ahead of the pack.
Building your dream life and business is possible.
But it takes more than wishing upon the stars, keeping your fingers crossed or simply hoping for the best.
YOU DO have the power to create the life and business you’ve always wanted.
But how?
Well the secret is you need a schedule.
And not just any schedule you need a schedule that inspires you to take action and get things done. Having a schedule that works for you is vital to help steer your life and business in the direction that you want to go.
So one of the things that I get asked pretty often is how I fit everything into one day when there seems to be a thousand things to get done.
And though I do have a natural hunch for organization…without a schedule like anyone else I’d probably be a hot mess and let’s be honest no one has time for that.
Why is having a schedule important?
Having a schedule is important because it helps you manage your energy and time in order to be sure your accomplishing the goals that you desire for life and business. Without a schedule you may find yourself getting off track from your original goals due to distractions and or lack of direction.
I like to think of having a schedule like a GPS.
You can utilize a GPS for short or long distance locations.
Either way the gps will help you get to your location faster with confidence and less frustration and stress.
You may also find that you are able to save on gas and or to take a shorter route.
Even if the location is not new to you having a GPS system can also identify if there are any potential roadblocks due to construction, traffic delays ext so that you make it to your destination on time.
Like a GPS system, a schedule guides you towards productivity and efficiency. It helps you navigate your day and reach your goals without wasting precious time.
A well-structured schedule is your roadmap to a more happy productive life and business
Here are a few interesting scheduling statistics to consider:
How to create the perfect schedule that inspires you
First you want to write down the goals you want to accomplish for your life and business.
Though your schedule may look totally different from the next persons here are just a few scheduling categories to consider (no specific order btw)
Spiritual Well Being
Meal Prep
Health and Wellness (Physical & Mental)
Family Support (for example if have kids this can be scheduling for their education, meetings and or dr visits, and or recreational activities for the kids) ext.
Income producing activities for your business.
Time with your special person. Yes, if you have a special person be sure to fit in those date nights and time with each other.
Time to learn a new skill, study or read.
Family, friends and fun days.
Recreational Activities.
Time with your pet.
Learn new skill and or study.
Keep in mind your schedule may include all or some of these categories either way you want to be sure to make your schedule as unique to you as possible. You want your schedule to also reflect the goals that you want to accomplish. For instance, if one of your goals was to lose 10 pounds you want to have a category on your schedule for “health and wellness” or “weightloss’
Adding your to-do list
Once you have the categories down that reflect the goals that you want to accomplish next you want to write down the actions that you need to take in order to accomplish the goal.
As an example if your goal is to lose weight your to-do list may reflect “work out at home or gym at min of 30 minutes per day” or eat no more than —– calories per day ext.
next you want to add whether or not your goal will have a deadline.
For instance, if you’re needing to lose 15 pounds in the next 30 days you can add “within a month” or a specific date next to the goal on your schedule.
(add an example of an inspirational schedule)
Adding a pop of inspiration
So the this next step is totally optional however I personally like adding a mini images to the top of my s schedule that reflect the goals that I want to accomplish. I’ve found adding inspirational photos to my schedule helps brings the schedule to life and acts as a reminder of why keeping the schedule is important.
Here’s an example of what it could look like:
Add time slots to your schedule
Next, you want to add time frames that you have on your schedule. Keep in mind the times you start with you may change later if you find doing a task at another time works better.
A few more tips:
Lastly, be easy on yourself and whether things go perfectly some days or not remember to congratulate yourself for the small wins along the way.
