Google Search Console: The Secret Sauce to Grow Your Blog Fast!
(Part One)
Okay love bugs, here’s something you probably don’t hear a lot…
There are free tools you can use to grow your business. I know — you’ve probably been told that everything has to cost an arm and a leg to grow your website traffic, but friend, that’s not necessarily true.
Now don’t get me wrong — I do believe the core of your business, the things that carry your ecosystem, should be a premium investment.
But when it comes to managing your blogging business day-to-day? Not everything needs to break the bank.
There are a plethora of affordable tools out there, but one I keep in my back pocket and recommend every time is a low-key powerhouse — aka one of the secret ingredients that helps your blog run and grow quickly.
In the last post, we touched on Google SEO for beginners, and let me just say — it’s a must-read.
We covered the depths of SEO there, and you can find that post here: SEO For New Bloggers: 6 Powerful Ways To Glow Up Your Blog!
And today, we’re covering a simple yet powerful, easy-to-use tool that quietly helps your blog stay strong and steady without you doing all the work.
And that tool is: Google Search Console.
Let’s talk about why it’s part of the secret sauce to real blog growth.
First things first: What is Google Search Console? 🔥
Google Search Console (aka GSC) is a free tool from Google that gives you behind-the-scenes access to how your website is performing in search.
It shows you what keywords people are using to find you, which blog posts are getting clicks, and how well your content is showing up on Google — all in one dashboard.
Google Search Console is more accurate because it’s directly connected to your actual website via verification (usually through your domain, DNS, or a tracking code).
No worries about understanding it all now, friend — just keep sipping your coffee. ☕ We’ll break this part down step-by-step in tomorrow’s post.
Though there are a plethora of other tools you can utilize out there, I personally highly recommend Google Console for the most accurate results — especially if your blog is less than 12 months old.
While other tools can be useful, Google Search Console is the most accurate — especially regarding things like website traffic. Other tools? Drastically flawed there.
When you Google your favorite celebrity’s net worth and you get a number from Google, that number is probably drastically inaccurate.
The celebrity could make more or less. Only them and their bank accounts would know the specific numbers.
Well, that’s the same thing with Google Search Console vs. other website software you could use.
So I would recommend having Google Console — and if you wanted to play around with other tools for comparison? Hey, why not.
No more guessing — see exactly which keywords are leading people to your blog.
Okay, so here’s what I loveeee about Google Search Console — it helps you remove the guessing game.
When it comes to figuring out which keywords are leading your soul tribe to your blog — or as some may say, your target audience (psst I just don’t like using that term anymore hehe — but that’s where Google Search Console steps in) — Google Search Console steps in.
Will this happen overnight? Not typically. But after a few months of writing about specific topics within your niche, Google starts to recognize which keywords are sending people to your blog.
Did you know? Google Search Console is used by over 60% of high-traffic blogs and websites to monitor performance and grow smarter — not harder. Source: Databox
→ Let’s talk about why that actually matters for your blog.
Once you know what your soul tribe is searching for — not just in theory, but for sure — you know exactly what content to create and what offers or services to shape around it.
For example, if you’re in the wellness niche and people are visiting your blog after searching for relaxing healthy morning drinks or clean food breakfast ideas, then boom — that’s a clear sign to create more content on that.
You may be asking, “Okay Keesh, but what if I’m not ranking super high yet?” No worries, love bug.
Keep going — Google Search Console is still collecting the data that you’ll need to grow with strategy (and peace). ✨
I usually say give it at least 3–6 months of consistent posting on your blog — and yep, the more posting, the better.
I’ll share more soon about why I personally started posting more often (spoiler alert: it’s already working), but just know that during those early months, Google is quietly gathering that data for you behind the scenes.
And before you know it? They’ll start showing you exactly which keywords your blog is getting found for.
2. Yep — Google Search Console helps you officially tell Google your blog exists (important).
So here’s a little secret I’ll key you in on: Google actually needs your help to know your blog post exists.
You might be thinking, “Wait, but I already hit publish?” And yep, you did — but that’s just one part of the process.
To make sure your blog post shows up in search results, you need to officially submit it inside Google Search Console. This tells Google your post is live, ready, and waiting to be seen.
✨Pin it, love bug — your future blog self will be so glad you saved this one.
Now, can Google find and rank your post without this step? Technically, yes — especially if your sitemap is set up correctly and your blog’s SEO is solid. But it can take longer. And in some cases, it might not get indexed at all.
Submitting your post directly to GSC gives Google a heads-up that your content isn’t “coming soon” — it’s ready right now. And remember — this blog post is all about how to use Google Search Console to grow your blog faster.
This one Google Search Console tip alone is a complete game-changer — and most people don’t know adding this to your blog post strategy, it will help your blog grow faster.
But here’s what’s cool…
now you do.
And here’s just a peek at what else Google Search Console can help with:
• Track how your blog is performing on mobile vs. desktop.
• Spot broken links and behind-the-scenes site errors early.
• See exactly which blog posts are getting the most traffic (and which might need love).
• Monitor your average position in Google’s search results.
• Check if your blog is mobile-friendly for readers on the go.
• Catch technical SEO issues like crawl or indexing problems.
• Find out who’s linking to your blog (hello, backlinks!).
• Provide insight on how often Google is crawling your site.
Now that’s just the beginning. 🥂
Tomorrow’s post will walk you through how to check and implement each of these Google Search Console features for your own blog — step-by-step.
So stay tuned, love bug.
Because yep, this series is all about one thing:
