Google Notes for Blogging: My Favorite Tool for Creating on the Go ✈️
So heres a little secret…
One of the biggest myths I see floating around about blogging is this idea that you need some expensive tech or fancy setup just to get started or stay consistent.
Truth is?
🛠️ The infrastructure of your blog (like your website + design setup) is absolutely worth investment..
But when it comes to the daily grind of running your blog?
Love bug, I’m all about keeping it simple — and free — when possible.
Yes. It’s free. And yes, I use it all the time ☺️✨️💼
📌 Pin-worthy + free? Yep, love bug — this one’s worth saving. Add it to your Blogging Tools or Business Tips board… and stay organized + productive later 💛
Why I Love Google Notes (and How I Use It for Blogging)
🧠 1. Quick Idea Dumps
I’m constantly getting ideas — from client strategy notes to late-night content thoughts.
And let’s be real… if I don’t jot it down right away? Gone unfortunately lol.
So I use the Google Notes app (yep, the mobile one) to quickly capture:
Blog post ideas
Marketing inspo
Random “aha!” moments
Even life or business reminders
Having everything in one spot saves my brain — and my blog.
✍🏽 2. Blog Post Rough Drafts (Yes, Really!)
This might surprise you, but I don’t write my blog posts directly inside WordPress.
Why? Because WordPress has all those paragraph blocks and formatting boxes that can feel a little… clunky when you’re in free-flow creation mode.
Instead, I use Google Notes to:
Draft the core message
Play with outlines
Type fast with no pressure
Let it marinate before moving it over to WordPress
It’s like my personal little writing studio — right in my pocket.
🛠️ Bonus: More Ways You Can Use Google Notes for Blogging + Life.
Outside of blogging, here are a few ways I use Google Notes to stay on track and clear-headed:
✨ Client Notes — I jot down quick ideas or reminders for current projects or coaching sessions.
🧾 To-Do Lists — Whether it’s a grocery list or business checklist, I keep it all tidy in color-coded notes.
🧠 Brain Dumps — Perfect for rough drafts, vision boards, or sorting through thoughts before I turn them into real content.
💡 Quotes + Inspo — I have a note just for motivational quote ideas I may get during the day.
📅 Weekly Goals — Quick, simple goals to keep me focused when on the go without needing a full planner.
Final Thoughts:
So love bug, if you’re trying to stay consistent with your blog but feel overwhelmed by all the tech out there — try simplifying your process.
Google Notes has been a quiet game changer for me.
It’s free, it’s easy, and it helps me stay organized without overthinking it.
